ANNE FABINI – film editor



Anne Fabini has been editing notable feature films and documentaries since 1999.

Her work includes two Academy Award® nominated documentary features: WRITING WITH FIRE (2022) by Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Gosh and  OF FATHERS AND SONS (2019) by Syrian director Talal Derki. 

In 2022 the Colombian documentary ALIS by Clare Weiskopf and Nicolás van Hemelryck won a Chrystal Bear at Berlin International Film Festival while Jessica Krummacher’s feature film THE DEATH OF MY MOTHER competed in the Encounters section. At the 2023 Berlinale edition another feature she edited, SOMEDAY WE’LL TELL EACH OTHER EVERYTHING by Emily Atef premiered in the competition.

Anne Fabini is part of the 2019 Spirit Awards nominated editing team of Jennifer Fox’s fiction film THE TALE. She is the editor of Chad Hartigan’s MORRIS FROM AMERICA, winner of two awards at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. HOUSTON (2013) by Bastian Günther premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in the World Drama Competition.

She is winner of the 2019 German Film Award for Best Editing for OF FATHERS AND SONS and the prestigious German Film Critics Award. International awards include FAMAS 2020 Best Editing for the Philippine documentary ASWANG and the Durban Film Festival Award for Best Editing for THE TALE (together with Alex Hall and Gary Levy).  

Passionate about passing on her knowledge, she hosts a series of lectures and talks on film editing at the Berlin film school dffb. She often works as an editing tutor at international documentary workshops and is a member of Rough Cut Service.

After living her childhood in Romania and spending five years of her adult life in Spain, she is now based in Berlin again.
